D. Stephen Elliot,

D. Stephen Elliott has been the President of The Farmers’ Museum and the New York State Historical Association since 2005. Before joining the organizations, he served as Executive Director since 2000 at the Council for America’s First Freedom, in Richmond, Virginia, a non-profit whose educational
mission focuses on the development of religious freedom in America. Previously he had held numerous posts over 28 years with The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, in Virginia, the world’s largest living history museum, serving as the Vice President of Education from 1993-2000; Vice President and Chief Administration Officer from 1988-1993; Vice President of Planning, Information Management, Quality Performance and Corporate Secretary from 1982-1988; Secretary of the Foundation and Director of Corporate Planning from 1978-1982; and Executive Assistant to the President and Assistant Secretary of the Foundation from 1976-1978.
